My bed. I have glow in the dark stars all over my ceiling.

My back yard which overlooks Lake Wildwood. The sunsets are amazing and the stars at night shine so bright. It’s a great place to go to reflect on life, make wishes on shooting stars, and be one with nature.
Carly says
Anywhere my husband is! Usually it’s sitting on the hood of the car or out on the back patio.

My dad always did two things with me growing up that I adored. One was softball in the yard, but my true love was stargazing. He would bring home my grandfather’s amazing telescope. It was short and fat. Who ever saw a short, fat telescope? Well, it was a big deal. I remember the first time we used it and I saw CRATERS ON THE MOON. It was so insane. I remember always going out to look at stars in our backyard. Anytime there was a really clear night (cold nights are the best), we would stay up and head out – it didn’t really matter what time it was. We even went to the roof of his building to see Halley’s Comet in 1986 when I was 5. I also cannot resist stargazing at our family cabin at Jackson Lake – been in the family since 1949. There are no lights to get in the way. Just clear, bright stars shooting left, right, up and down. So, I guess my favorite stargazing isn’t in a specific place; it is with my dad.

My favorite place to see the stars is right out my front door. I’ve never seen such bright and amazing stars before. I’m so fortunate to live in a place where the brightest lights are the stars.

My favorite place is a little cliff in the middle of the mountains about 5 minutes from my house called Iron Point. I have spent more then a few summer nights out there with my older brother and our friends sitting on the hood of our car staring at the star lit nights holding our breath in hopes to see a shooting star or two while we just enjoy the moment.
The rest of the world slips away while I am out there and the view is breath taking with stars stretching for miles everywhere you look with only the faint glow of the lights of Sacramento in the very far off distance to distract you from the glorious star pierced canvas painted above.

My family enjoys the night sky the most near the river, camping, without any other lights. It’s true love.

I love seeing the stars from the end of Ridge Road in Grass Valley. There are so many trees around my house I can’t see much of the night sky.
Marina says
Thank you for the giveaway, I love to watch the stars over the water. For example, somewhere like a seaport or even a park.
Elyse says
I love watching the stars at my grandparents’ cabin! There are no lights around, so the sky is brilliant!
Raquel Romero says
There’s this park by my house and it’s always empty at night. I love going there with a blanket and just lying down, looking up at the stars. I’ll bring my iPhone and just listen to music and relax.

Twenty minutes away from my college. It was the first time I truly heard silence and let it envelope me.

My favorite place to stargaze? The back porch at my home! 🙂 Thank you for the giveaway! 🙂

Just had to chime in so people knew the above comment was a different Kim Culbertson than the author (so fun!) 🙂 And it made me realize I should ALSO post my favorite stargazing spot. Stars over Lake Tahoe with Peter and Anabella snuggled close…definitely my favorite stargazing moment!
Angela C says
My backyard! It’s pretty big and empty so there’s lots of room to lay down comfortably. And luckily I don’t live in the city because I can see the stars pretty okay here. I wonder what it would be like in the country… Probably 1000x better, huh? :/ But it’s good enough for me! I can’t wait to read Catch a Falling Star!! <3
Fiorella V. says
My favorite place to stargaze is my backyard. I like to sit on my sister’s swing set, and look up at the sky. It’s not the best place since the stars don’t seem to shine much from there, but it’s better than other places I’ve tried before. Thanks for the giveaway.
Nicole McCormack says
I love staring at the stars from the beautiful, quiet mountains of Lake Tahoe. They seem infinite there.
Taylor says
My favorite place to stargaze would probably have to be in my back yard. Just laying down and looking up at the constellations is amazing.
Erin Dix-it says
Whidbey Island. Lake Tahoe. And pretty much camping anywhere between those two destinations! I’ll take the stars anywhere, but love them most shared in peaceful places with family and friends that feel like family!
Jennifer says
Although the stars seem so close while in Tahoe or my family favorite, Lundy Lake, I must admit that is not my favorite. It would be laying in the grass with my Dad, our backyard of the house where I grew up in Grass Valley. Being with him was extra special.
Jessica says
The best stars come out at the campground while you’re gazing through treetops and listening to the sounds of nature.
Kat Kyle says
One place that I always love looking at the stars is when I go to the campground in Ashland Oregon when I go with the school to the Shakespeare Festival. The stars were so bright and beautiful. I would stare up at them and think about how small my problems seem to be when I look at how big the universe is. I think of my God looking down on me and just filling me with joy using the stars.
Amy M. says
My favorite place to star gaze is probably back at home in Hawaii. At night, it’s really pretty to drive out to one of the look out points. There’s generally no lights out there. So it’s perfect for stargazing!
Liz says
I live in SC and you can see the stars here and stuff but not like in National parks in Texas or in California where their more brighter and so much beautiful. My favorite place to stargaze here is at the beach. Just sitting their at night, laying down and looking up at them. It’s so peaceful and relaxing and you just get lost in them and you completely forget about the world. Or when I’m in the car coming home from shopping or going out with my family, i like to be in the back seat and lay down and look out my window if I get the chance too. Thank you and I would just love to say this book was amazing, I litterly had to read it two times.

I love to stargaze at my grandparent’s house in the country.
