Writing Consultation/Coaching

I hold an MS in Education from Dominican University and an MFA in Fiction from the Rainier Writing Workshop. I have also served as guest faculty/author at a variety of festivals and conferences including the Flash Fiction Institute, Bay Area Book Festival, National Writing Project, the Community of Writers in Olympic Valley, Writing by Writers, the Sierra Writers Conference (now Sierra WordFest), the Sierra Poetry Festival, and dozens of author panels, library, and private writing workshops.

Most importantly, though, the sum of my experience so far has allowed me to understand the importance of nurturing each writer’s process. As a writing consultant, my job is to support each writer’s individual goals as well as locate and amplify a writer’s voice. At the end of the day, I am here to help make your work the best version of what you want it to be, not what I want it to be. It is a simple, yet crucial, distinction.

(This could include questions about publishing options, how to write a query letter/get an agent, or it could simply be a general conversation about your project.)

Includes: developmental editorial letter for complete read of a manuscript (up to 95K words, over that we can chat) + one hour Zoom call to review questions about notes (this is not a copy editing or a line editing service)

Coaching

Small Group ongoing Monthly Writing Coaching

$75/month

For writers with a work in progress who might want accountability check-ins and review of their monthly pages, I offer a monthly small group zoom session + read of WIP (up to 25 pages per month). This allows students to commit to not just my feedback but also the deadline of a monthly accountability check in that includes a short craft lesson, a generative workshop, and a community of other writers working on a work in progress. I limit these groups to 5 students and will keep a waitlist until we fill a group.

Add-on:

Writers who want individual zoom sessions with me in addition to the monthly group, can add hour long Zoom sessions with me.
